Professional translator specialized in musical, education and legal texts with formal studies in the three areas of expertise and experience of 10 years residence in Australia (2004-2014)

Since coming back to México in August, 2014, I started in the field of translation through a series of informal jobs for my colleagues and working partners in musical ensembles. It all started when I made a translation of a user’s manual for a mixing desk that someone needed in a live music bar in Mexico city for her sound engineer. Later on that year, I moved to southern Mexico and I made a couple of translations of tutorial videos for my bandmates. After seeing the potential for learning when you understand the tutorials, they recommended me around and that’s how a series of informal and sporadic jobs started out for me specializing in music business related documents for people that didn´t understand English well enough.

In 2020, due to personal situations, I had the necessity of seeking out for alternative forms of work, and instead of looking for a part time occupation, I decided to invest my time and money on certifications to work online and doing some of the activities that I enjoy the most: Tutoring and translating.

I have always thought that is not the same when you can communicate effectively than expressing yourself and knowing how the variants and common expressions work in a language. My experience in Australia was not only with different English accents. Melbourne is one of the most multicultural cities in the world and I got to meet people from all over Latin America and English-speaking countries. I have always liked speaking English myself. My mum is a retired English teacher, so I always had my personal tutor at home. For that reason, I decided to focus only in that language pair and areas of specialization that I know well.

Currently, I have certifications on Professional legal translation, CAT tool usage (SDL Trados Studio) and I have specialized courses on English and American law and international labor law.
